A State Training for Family-to-Family Teachers is coming up in a few weeks! If you have been impacted by NAMI’s Family Programming, and would love to learn how to lead NAMI’s Family Programs to help other family members, this is a free opportunity to be certified by NAMI National’s standards.

Training will be held over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday), from morning to mid-afternoon. This training will be held on Zoom.

You don’t have to teach alone. Just like the training, NAMI Family-to-Family is run as a team with other trained Peer to Peer teachers. We have a current Family-to-Family team running stadewide classes who are looking for people to join them, or we can help you form a new teaching team with your fellow trainees!

Family-to-Family classes usually run weekly over the course of 8 weeks, same day/time window each week for consistency. You can fit a class into a day/time that aligns with your schedule. We ideally would like to expand our in-person programming to have the most reach, but virtual groups are still in need of volunteers too! You can let us know your preferences below to let us know where you’d fit best.

Do you have a loved one struggling with a mental health condition and want to learn how to better navigate the situation? Join us for our upcoming Family-to-Family class starting in February

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition. It is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.

Classes will be on Saturdays, 9 am to 12 noon HST
