NAMI Peer-to-Peer Leader Training

Want to volunteer with NAMI as a Peer-to-Peer leader?

Peer-to-Peer is an 8-week educational program that follows a model similar to our signature Family-to-Family program, in which peers who have lived experience with mental illness educate fellow peers on navigating mental health systems and finding recovery; including: self care, partnering with healthcare providers, cultivating communication and decision-making skills, advocacy, treatment options, and more.

NAMI Hawaii will be running a Peer-to-Peer state training on the weekend of July 27-28th, in which we are aiming to train a new set of Peer-to-Peer leaders to improve the reach and frequency of this program state-wide. Through this training you will learn and gain experience for everything you need to know to be a capable NAMI program leader.

If you or someone you know has / had a lived experience with a mental health condition (from depression/anxiety to SMIs), and you would like to give back to the NAMI community, please apply to join us for this training! We are looking for both in-person and online programs, so you can offer your experience in a way that works for you!
